چکیده

Lumpy wool (dermatophilosis) develops following prolonged wetting of sheep when bacterial proliferation in and on skin induce an exudative dermatitis, causing a superficial lesion damage to follicles fibres. The incidence dermatophilosis is strongly dependent wet warm weather and, hence, infection sporadic. While older animals are less at risk than lambs, it unclear whether this reflects naturally acquired immune resistance or the maturation Dermatophilosis directly causes production losses also factor for blowfly strike, which has substantial economic impact increasing challenges associated with current control procedures. This review assessed research lumpy wool, characteristics resulting defence reactions sheep, strategies, limitations previous attempts by vaccination.

Wool Keratin-Associated Protein Genes in Sheep—A Review

The importance of sheep's wool in making textiles has inspired extensive research into its structure and the underlying genetics since the 1960s. Wool keratin-associated proteins (KAPs) are a key structural component of the wool fibre. The characterisation of the genes encoding these proteins has progressed rapidly with advances in the nucleotide and protein sequencing. This review describes ou...

Dentine hypersensitivity: a review of its aetiology, pathogenesis and management.

Dentine hypersensitivity (DH) is defined as pain arising from exposed dentine and represents a distinct clinical entity. Reported cases are increasing particularly among the younger age groups and are thought to be due to acidogenic diets, destructive habits, poor tooth brushing techniques, and the increased use of tooth whitening products. Dentine exposure may be due to a number of processes, ...
